    @TLoZfanatic sumimasen is more versatile. i don’t think it directly translates to i’m sorry as in i have sorrow. it can be used to get a store clerk’s attention or if you’re trying to get through a crowded room of people. it kind of has a feeling of saying i’m sorry to put you out or bother you so please excuse me for doing so. i lived in japan for 3 years but never took a class so most words i have a feeling for but don’t know the direct translation.

    Isn’t that a gesture that’s done pretty much everywhere? I don’t know, i didn’t know it was a specificly Japanese gesture for “sorry”, i do that too and pretty much everyone does (and i’m not Japanese at all =P). Well, i guess i just learnt something then.
